Bean - Old Brown Java
Origin - Java, Indonesia
In the 1600's the Dutch introduced the first Arabica raw beans to the volcanic soils of Java. As they sailed back to Europe the raw beans were stored away on ships to act as ballast.
After several months at sea, the coffee beans were tempered by wood and salty sea air to give an earthiness with an exceptional full bodied flavour and a hint of sweetness.
